BLITHE SPIRIT
A Letter From General Advisor
The COVID-19 pandemic does not deter the student production team from performing the 52nd graduation play. In May 2021, Taiwan’s severe COVID cases climbed to new high and on-campus activities were suspended. The team chose to neither cancel nor postpone the performance. This annual play is the team’s showcase for exhibiting their competencies of 21st century citizens—critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity.
The team thought critically, communicated, and collaborated to create a dramatic performance, an unprecedented shift from a stage to a screen. The job responsibilities have been reorganized, and quality theatrical entertainment to the audience must be provided. The team sets new formats and innovative standards of a graduation tradition. Blithe Spirit is presented. This comic play is much needed during lockdown in which humor and laugher are the therapy to cope with tension and uncertainties.
